What a beautiful week to kick off week #1 at Wild Wood Country Club. Just a light breeze and blue skies. Almost everyone was saying the cart path was not too bad for the few holes that were still wet. The course knowledge will come as I heard many lessons were learned week #1.
Overall the course was in pretty good shape other than the greens being on the slow side. As things continue to dry up, they will become much faster, trust me.
I pulled up next to Tim Tatakis sitting with all of the golf carts before the round started. He was sitting on his phone calling AAA because his cart wouldn’t move. I informed him that the keys to the carts were inside at the pro shop. Lesson learned!!
Welcome our newest players: Robby Salisbury, Ryan Roggow, Bret Matthews, Brendan Mulcahy and Tom Tatakis who was out sick the first night. You all did a great job with your score cards. Ben, take a lesson, you must add up all the scores at the end before you turn in your card. Rookie mistake!
I think Steve Pritchard likes to see his name in the write up and was missing it this off season as he provided us with the first blooper of the season. He was telling us about Wild Wood as he is a member there. He was explaining to us about the three simulators that they have available. Unfortunately he used the word Stimulator instead. Clearly he is taking matters into his own hands this off season.
Please share any funny news weekly so we can be sure to add it to the weekly write ups. Remember, if no news is provided, we are just like Fox News and we make it up. AKA “Fake News”.
I heard great things about the bar and the food was amazing as well. It was kind of nice not sharing the lounge with the Greeks. Reminder, no beverage cart for the first couple of weeks. There are beverages available at the pro shop if needed. We had a good turn out with about 20 people showing up. Remember, they are opening up the lounge just for us, so please try to stop in and share a few laughs and a cold beverage.
