We are just one week away from the start of not only a new season but a new course as well. This year we will have a few returning players coming back that did not play last year and 5-6 new players.
The season kicks off on next Monday May 1st with a 4:30 shotgun start at Wild Wood Country Club. They do have a practice putting green as well as a Driving Range that they will be providing for free. Additionally, the Golf Carts will have built in GPS. We will be playing from the blue tees for the first 9 holes, then moving up to the white tees for the next 5 holes.
Like any course, you can expect the course to be in Spring condition the first couple of weeks. You probably can expect to see some cart path only holes as well. I am hearing the greens are in very good condition and they have been able to keep up with the mowing so far and the bunkers have been raked out. Already this is much better than we had at Mill Creek.
The Bar and Restaurant will be open after the round. Please plan to stop in and enjoy some suds and great food. I am being told it will be a week or two before they will have a Beer Cart person available.
For new members the scoring may seem difficult at first but please stop in at the bar after the round and we will help walk you through it. I also suggest you go to our website at 14holegolf.com under League Info and click on scoring instructions to get a better idea how everything works.
Remember, if you are expecting to have a sub, we need to know by Saturday no later than 4:00pm. If you will need a sub, please let me know and I will try my best to get you one.
