By looking at the scores this week and seeing that not 1 single player beat their cap. You would have thought we were playing Oak Hill. The course conditions seem to be getting better each week. There must be some confusion with the greens. Some people said they we much faster than last week and some said they were slower. I guess it all depends on if you were above or below the hole. Even the lowest handicap player in the league had a rough go of it shooting 14 over his cap. I told Ben I would not mention his name.

Low rounds of the night go to the Jacks, Jack Birecree and Jack Lewandowski both shooting a 64. The birdies were sparce this week as well. Of the 36 golfers and 14 holes played, there were 504 opportunities to get a birdie, but only 4 players got one.

  • Bob Burkovich
  • Paul Contestable
  • Jack Lewandowski
  • Steve Pritchard

Highlight shot of the week goes to Steve Pritchard. On hole #4 from 163 yards out. He hit the pin and then proceeded to drop the putt for a 3 and received the first birdie of the night. Just for the record, this really did happen and is not Yellow Journalism.

This week we also started a side game “Team Low Net”. For a $2.00 admission per player or $4.00 per team you are entered into the Team Low Net Game. You take the combined score between you and your partner, less your handicap and that is your score. Lowest team score wins the money collected. This week, with a combined score of 117, Jack Birecree & Tom Ebert won the $40.00 pot. The payout is done weekly in the bar after the round. Glenn Cranmer will be running this side game each week. Please see Glenn before the first ball is hit if you would like to participate.

Blooper of the week goes to Grant Hines. Not only did he just return from Georgia on a 4 Day Bachelor party. You could almost smell the Tequila coming out of his pores on the driving range. If that wasn’t bad enough, He must of still had the shakes as he had trouble keeping a good grip on his clubs. This appears to have gotten away from him. He got to the bar and was still throwing $1.00 bills around. It’s good to be young!!!
