The tranquil evening with just enough breeze made the weather conditions absolutely pristine. The course conditions, especially the greens that were covered with shrapnel and divots, were some of the worst greens I have seen at Wild Wood in years.
The greens were the #1 complaint this week, and trust me I think I heard it from almost every person. That is probably why only two players beat their cap this week. Jack Lewandowski shot a 55 for a +2, 2 strokes under his cap and his partner Grant Hines had a 65 beating his cap by 1 stroke. The only saving grace was that Super Sub Greg Koch & Gena Werner were able to hold Lewandowski & Hines to only 10 points.
Additionally the Birdie count continues to drop off as only 4 players had 6 birdies. The bad part is Jack L. had 3 of them.
- Lewandowski – 3 Birdies
- Dell – 1 Birdie
- Smith – 1 Birdie
- Steve Pritchard – 1 Birdie
How quickly things chance, last week Vince beat his cap by 5 strokes and this week he was 13 over his cap. How quickly our golf game can fall off. Not that long ago Bret Matthews had a hole in one and now he is not even coming close to hitting his cap. Thankfully, golf is not our full time job.
I am guessing the beverage cart lady quit as she was nowhere to be seen this week.
